Welcome to Steve's Retro Computing Website!

Who am I?

My name is Steve. I'm often confused by my students for the main character in Minecraft.

Although I have been known on occasion to play Minecraft, I'm more often than not enjoying taking apart different computers or computer equipment only to put them back together again and get them working. I am self-taught and this is just a hobby of mine.

I also enjoy playing with different operating systems (especially old ones from my childhood) and some new ones too. If you have a suggestion, let me know.

For more information, you can take a look at my more professional website.

Why did I create this website?

I originally created this website as a type of time capsule of various games and programs I used to use or play when I was younger.

I believe that many of these games and programs can have lots of benefits for people even today. The 1990s and 2000s enjoyed a golden age of edutainment for computers that hasn't really been seen since then. I hope that with this website, students, teachers, and parents alike can find a place to enjoy this history and maybe even be tempted to ressurrect an old retro game or program that hasn't been used by the wider population for many years.
